About Us

Malling Art Club was formed in 1978 to promote an interest in art, particularly painting and drawing by means of tuition, art demonstrations, workshops and exhibitions. The Club was honoured when Graham Sutherland became our first President and following his death in 1980, when artist Roger de Grey took up the presidency. Upon his death in 1995, his wife Flavia Irwin, Lady de Grey, herself a renowned artist, kindly took his place. 
Norman Jenner, after 7 years as Chairman, has now become our President and we look forward to his continued support.

Today the club has evolved and as well as monthly demonstrations which allow members and guests to learn many new technics, we also have twice  monthly painting mornings and afternoons where we can perfect some of these skills or just enjoy painting and drawing. ( Click for Schedule ) It doesn't matter whether you are an accomplished artist ,or a beginner everyone is welcome. We also have a small library of art books and teach yourself manuals which members can borrow for a month for £1.00
